The Decider

State of origin Two
Game one is done and dusted you can not change what’s gone before
The Blues played the better game and left our players bruised and sore.
A fumble here a missed tackle there and our game just fell apart
we found some form towards the end but a win was off the chart.
The Blues have started spruiking they feel they really have a chance
to break this Queensland dominance and do their victory dance.
Well just you go on spruiking Blues cause Queensland will rise again
we’ve held the shield for seven years so let me state it plain.
Queensland will even up this series and tear the Blues best team apart
for they are only champions on paper but it’s a team without a heart.
Oh it will be hard and tough and torrid the game played at it’s best
But The Blues will have no answer when we put them to the test.
Some of my workmates they are roaches they niggle and they skite
About how good their team is, well just you wait till Wednesday night.
This is the best The Blues can muster that’s the word out on the street.
But they will just have no answer as we taste that victory sweet.
Mal has had to make some changes but that was always on the cards
Papalii’ in for Shillington to try and gain those vital yards
up the middle where the tough men roam and stake their claim to fame
and Cherry - Evans is sure to hold his own, his style can turn a game.
Ten times the Blues have come here with a win under their belt
and seven times we’ve sent them packing as a beating they’ve been dealt.
This is our turf our homeland it’s blood stained surface looming dark
They might have renamed it Suncorp but to Queenslanders it’s Lang Park.
There will be no joy for Laurie no time spent of victories stage
Queensland will square this series and rewrite histories page.
Where Big Artie’s daunting image stands our favourite sons will fly
Queensland will be victorious and the Blues will hear our victory cry.
Queenslander.
