WELCOME TO MY OFFICE
He said ‘welcome to my office’ with a broad and cheery grin.
‘It’s nothing flash or trendy but my friends like dropping in,
and you must agree’ he muttered, ‘ it has a fantastic view
and I never tire of seeing it, the sea and sky so blue.
Floorspace is small but suits me, the location is terrific.
When it rains it’s just as if you have let in the whole pacific,
but it gets the cooling breezes, and the sunsets that you see
make its minor imperfections fade into obscurity.
I can do some serious thinking here, especially on my own,
and I’m never troubled by the noise, or ringing telephones.
I like this spot, but if I tire of it I move away.
It’s easy when your office is a tinny on the bay.
Its’ funny how the little things can rain on your parade,
but throw a line in and you know your troubles start to fade
there’s nothing in this life at all that worrying has mended,
yet I reckon worrying has seen many a good life ended.
But come on in and welcome, sit back, enjoy the view.
It’s a million dollar morning and the fish are biting too,
wet a line, and have a beer mate and throw all your cares away.
Welcome to my office in my tinny on the bay.'
