Mad Muddy Max

Mad Muddy Max
I read that the current floods at Broken Hill have caused the filming of the new Mad Max film to be postponed until 2012.

I’d like to see Max muddy.
I think he would look cool.
Ev’ry desert can get rain.
There isn’t any rule
That says Max has to live in dust,
His world forever dry.
Come on, fellas, take a risk.
I think it’s worth a try.
I’d like to see his sodden hair
Plastered ‘cross his face.
Couldn’t bashed-up motor boats
Across the waters race?
Of course, it’s not my money.
It’s fine for me to say
The audience could take it
If it went the other way,
If it went from dust to water.
I can understand their fear,
But the landscape now is ev’ry bit
As rugged and severe
As it ever is in drought time.
It would take a lot of skill
To flourish in a world like that.
There’s ample scope to thrill.
So come, you timid writers,
You’ve an opportunity
To show another side to Max.
You needn’t feel at sea. (Little joke here. Yuk! Yuk!)
Broken Hill’s not broken. (Another one! I’m really smokin’ now!)
That’s the way it is.
It happens ev’ry now and then.
There’s no need for a tizz. (Yeah, that rhyme’s a bit weak, I know.)
Hew the world to suit your ends.
Don’t be a fuddy duddy. (Even weaker…)
Show us Max is even MADDER
When he’s wet and muddy!
(I know I’D get mad if my costume got all wet!)
