I picked up another HM at Murtoa with this poem.

Murtoa

There’s a little town I know of called Murtoa.
It’s not prone to erupt like Krakatoa.
More likely you’ll see grandad on his mower
At Murtoa;

No writhing anaconda, and no boa,
But probably a range of Protozoa,
And perhaps a native tussock grass like poa
At Murtoa;

John Cade, the shrink, was born at old Murtoa.
He found a drug to make a manic lower.
It helps to make a racing mind run slower.
Great, Murtoa!

The nearby lake is dry. It’s not a goer,

So you’ll very likely never see a rower,
And, of course, there wouldn’t be much need for Noah
At Murtoa!

But do not waste more time. Get on the blower!
Book a night! Come and say ‘aloha’!
We’re right up there with Seymour and Euroa
At Murtoa!

G'day Stephen,

Sweet, simple, effective. I think this is a real Aussie take on poetry.

Well done Stephen!
Simple, but get the message across - there's no need at all for lengthy words!!
Mind you, sounds like there isn't too much to include for lengthy words!! :lol: But obviously a nice relaxing place to visit.

And amongst those pagans of Murtoa, not even a churchgoer.

Good on ya Stephen.

At Murtoa!" :lol: :lol:

Cheers, Will.

There might now Will. We've had a lot of rain the past week. I know we're paddling here.

Yes, I was wondering about that, too.
