There are those who may malign her
There are those who wish her harm.
There are those who say she’s dated
There are those who cause alarm.

Second one is almost pure Henry Lawson. Don't totally agree with the sentiments but jeez it's a good poem!
Did you ever gird your loins? Often wondered what that meant and why and how it was done.
Seemed to be a fair amount of girding in the bible as I remember.
