Well we really tried to tell them
but they just can’t get it right.
The truth will surface plain as day
on the field on Wednesday night.

The Blues spent hours in conference
changed their whole dammed coaching call.
But they never seem to get it right
and pride comes before a fall.

They swap and change their players
think they can pick a better side.
But it’s not about how good your are
if you don’t play the game with pride.

Champion players they may be
with skills that are profound.
But they will all just be cane toad fodder
on Lang Parks hallowed ground.

The tensions started building
you break out in a cold sweat
and your blood will start a tingling
as the battle lines are set.

Queenslands finest warriors
prepared to die for this great state.
This is what Origin was made for
friend or foe, mate against mate.

And there are people who you work with
for twelve months one of your crew.
but at this time every year mate
their skin starts turning slimy blue.

Fifty thousand screaming Queenslanders
all baying out for cockroach blood.
