Re: The Windscreen Cleaner
Yes, I guess we all miss those days of personal service. The woman at my local servo sells me milk and bread in a very charming way, though.

Just love this, Stephen! Quirky and something we can all relate to (though we don't have the traffic light entrepreneurs in regional towns - not ours anyway!)
Cheers

Thanks, Shelley.
Yes, as my daughter (aged 21) said to me when I read it to her, "Very Melbourne…".

Funny Stephen.
I think we need to hear more about the lady who sells you milk and bread in a very charming way though.

Re: The Windscreen Cleaner
There's not a lot to say, really. She's a plump, jolly, old woman who is very maternal. Last time I was there I bought five litres of oil for my car for $50. She was very embarrassed at the price, and urged me to head to another suburb several kms north where she was confident I could get it for a few dollars cheaper. I hadn't the heart to tell there that it was in the opposite direction to where I wanted to go, and I didn't have time.

What a kind, jolly, plump woman! I'm glad she doesn't work for me though!
