Love the way your heartfelt feelings have gone into this poem. Allows the reader to feel it too

Another beauty Heather,
In a way I can relate to it because a fire caused by Cyclone Alby destroyed our old homestead and all the history associated with it.
The only sign left now are a couple of blackened posts and the whole area has reverted to natural bush again.

The purpose in life is to have fun.

Thanks Val, if you can feel it then I have done my job.
Terry if you saw the area today you probably wouldn't know there had been a fire, the regrowth has been incredible. Mother Nature is pretty amazing.
Bob, I walked beside my friends in their journey - I was very priveliged to do so. I can't say I know what it is to lose a home, because I think for every person that is different - in fact I met some people who were just as badly (or worse) affected by losing a garden or pets - but, I can say I think I know how they feel. Whenever there is a similar disaster I feel a sense of absolute dread for the people as I know the road they have in front of them. Anyways, I've made some lovely friends because of it. One of my friends who lost a home and lots of her treasures, has told me she wouldn't trade it now for the friends she has made and that is a mighty big thing to say. Most people are now back to normal - it's just a new normal.

Thanks David.
I wish it were that simple David. I have a friend who lost two babies - one from cot death at 9mths, one the day she was born. The only photo of her baby was in her home that was lost in the fire.
