G'day Trisha,

Goodoh (as Glenny would say). As I say to my fellow members of Illawarra Breakfast Poets, if it isn't for competition, then you make it how you like it.

This also applies to some very close to the heart poems. I know we love our words and some should not be altered just to 'better fit' competition rules. I have expressed the concern that the 'soul' of a poem can be ripped out if we change our chosen words simply to meet convention. It is good to see you know what you have written and why - and have the confidence to know when to leave it. Good on you.

No wonder I had not seen this Trish it's back in 2010.

Bull ant or green ants they all bite the same.

Hey you just gave me the ending for a poem ???

Thanks in advance.

Cheers Bob

Thanks for bringing this forward Bob, I missed it way back then too. I haven't been bitten by a bull ant, but I've felt the wrath of fire ants when I lived in America. Nasty, nasty creatures.

Guilty of missing it as well Trish - sometimes that just happens which is why it is good to go trawling occasionally - good poem I got bitten yesterday but thank god not by a bull ant, but it still hurt.

By the way the photos of you an Sue and the mob at weekend were excellent - nice looking ladies and blokes we have on this site I reckon. Mannie looked like he was doing parrot impersonations though - three sheets to the wind etc etc.

Probably just an optical illusion

Great verse, Trisha. Brought back not so pleasant memories, - i was bitten on the genitals by a sergeant ant about an inch long when I was about 12 years old. 48 years ago and the memory still makes me wince!
