I'm sure they could Neville. :) Autumn is a really gentle time of the year - so soothing when the heat goes from the air and everything seems to slow down. :)

I know what you meant Neville. What I meant was that someone who visited could write about it too.. this poem started out about the feeling I get from autumn - the change in the air, the smell, the calm - and then images of Corryong came to mind. I'll never forget waking up to the cold - the incredible cold! a heavy dew on the grass, the delicious, sweet smell of early morning, the Corryong creek burbling away, the deciduous trees, the cows in the paddock and then the fog lifted to reveal the mountains. It was early and I was the only one silly enough to be out in the cold. Special moment.

Thanks Stephen. Don't you just know that if the grass is covered in dew it promises to be a gorgeous day?
