DESIRED

DESIRED

Through wraiths of mist, he carefully traversed the mountain path,
weighed down with silent angst - his heavy load.
He heard the bellbirds calling, their mellifluous birdsong
emanating from the thick scrub near the road.

He heard the water rushing along a hidden gully
cascading joyous down the mountain side.
He heard the voices in his head, accusing, deprecating,
shrill hurtful statements from his much loved bride.

Oh he was in the wrong he knew, he’d strayed on cobbled streets,
succumbed to ruffles, vanity and lies
and silver words that led along the silver trails of madness
fuelled by lust which now was cutting ties.

He’d let the anger settle, give the sad tears time to cease
allowing time to pass and giving space;
then when 'twas calm and quiet he’d ask for her forgiveness
tell her he loved her, hold her, kiss her face.

Through wraiths of mist he followed on the rocky mountain path
now brightly lit as mist was burnt away.
He heard the soaring birdsong the feathered choirsters warbled
calming his soul. He wept for Desiree.

Maureen have you ever considered writing for Mills and Boon? You'd make a fortune!

I've been known to make the odd heart beat with flaming passion and desire in my time   but heaving bosoms , throbbing loins and tangled sheets really aren't my thing...(sigh) - now

I didn't say you had to "do" it, just write about it - my goodness, tangled sheets, throbbing loins - got me wanting more!
