I’M JUST HAPPY TO LIMP ROUND THE BLOCK

I know that I’m grey and I’m thinning on top
too the old frame is slowing pray tell.
Still I love my bush ballads but don’t get me wrong
I enjoyed other genres as well.

How we loved JOK and our tight fitting jeans
in an era that captured our soul.
And we slicked back our hair and we swivelled our hips
to guitars playing great rock and roll.

Chorus

But reality bites and those hips aren’t the same
and there’s no way to rock round that clock.
So I’ll stick to bush ballads and accept that today
I’m just happy to limp round the block.

How we loved all the freedom that music portrayed;
songs of love and romantic lament.
Songs of coming of age to our parent’s dismay
but we thought it was all heaven sent.

And the girls bobby socks and the long pony tails,
pleated skirts and the old saddle shoes.
Hey its’ showing my age but I don’t mind at all
‘cause it sure kept away all the blues.

Chorus

But reality bites and those hips aren’t the same
and there’s no way to rock round that clock.
So I’ll stick to bush ballads and accept that today
I’m just happy to limp round the block.
