Driver Man

Post by alongtimegone » Wed Aug 19, 2015 1:41 pm

I will post a guitar/vocal of this song on the audio uploads. At one time in my life I was going to make my fortune writing songs. Didn't happen.

Highway knows my name and where I’m going.
Daddy stand aside – open road is showing me the way.
And the driver man told me that he was coming through
about this time today.

Daddy don’t look sad because I’m leaving.
Your little girl is growing – open road is showing her the way.
And the driver man told me that he was coming through
about this time today.

Made up my mind, the life I’m going to lead.
I’ve hitched my star to a rolling stone.
Don’t try to tell me, ‘cause I won’t pay no heed.
I’ve got a life of my own.

Listen daddy sounds like he is coming.
I hear his truck a-moving.
See his rig a-rolling down the grade.
And the driver man told me that he was coming through
about this time today.

Great lyric Wazza. My sound seems to be a bit muffled today, but the tune is catchy and I really enjoyed listening to this song.

Thanks Catherine. Not sure why the sound is not clear. It comes out ok on my speakers and they're cheapies.
