Of course it can Bob ... We take our opportunities to share our craft. Often people who have never been exposed to it take delight (and feel like they've come home).
And kids - love it when exposed to it.

Kids rhyme naturally. In one recent workshop, I had a pretty hard core bunch of year 9 boys that I was warned about. Well, they were "gold" in their creativity, writing AND especially performing.

At Winton this year there were just on 400 Bush Poetry performances (100 up on last year).

Yes Mate, I'm optimistic ... :)

I think that thread was locked because someone (who shall remain nameless :? ) asked "why can't bush poets write about latte or chardonnay"

Which makes no sense because they actually rhyme together quite cleverly. As long as the grape is Australian grown, or at a stretch French grown but picked by an Eastern European refugee who knows someone who may be able to get him on a boat to Australia (or Manus Island if that counts?) And the low tide latte (or the Piccolo latte if you're a bit of a wanker) is as Aussie as holden with a boot full of four'n'twenty pies.

Seriously though, great to go over some of the old posts, reading stuff from our great mate Kym, and stuff from Martyboy that was funny or succint, before he got a severe case the shits.

Yes, Great Idea indeed

Does this "Great Idea" thread fall into the "SIGNIFICANT THREADS" category? (I note the use of capital letters which makes it even more significant)... ;)
