Spot on, Bob. People can try to take the enjoyment out of anything. I write and perform because I like it. Simple. I know you do the same. There are no rules. Currently 'enjoying' myself at a festival in Wagga. How's goes the migration North?

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.

It's just a discussion fellas. People always have, and always will want to have their say about any topic - you don't have to agree and you don't have to join in. It's a big grown up world now. It'd be a pretty boring old place if everyone agreed with one another - having different views is one of the things that makes the world more interesting and makes us think.

I don't think reading takes the enjoyment out of anything . . . although there was that time my wife started reading her New Idea while I was making love to her

Thanks Bob.
And yes Heather, there is no place for logic in this discussion!! It's a discussion (except for Marty B getting a bit angry! lol).
We poor old performing memory reciters seem to be under attack!

If it wasn't for a lot of those performers then there would be even less venues created for readers to attend. They don't ask for medals, just not to thrown in some 'elitist' group. As I said, I do it for enjoyment and to try to keep a healthy memory as I get older!! (Which is happening quickly! Agggghhhhh)

I didn't think readers or performers under attack to be honest - just everyone having a say on what they enjoy doing and why - apart from Marty who just disagrees with everyone who disagrees with him.

I'm sorry if I'm so sensible, logical and reasonable (not to forget exquisitely correct!) I'll go and read my New Idea now. Get outside and mow the lawn you lot!

Heather :)

PS Neilllll - now I think you've overdone it a bit!
