G'day all,

Some time back.. there was an official list of Judges compiled. If my memory serves, it was by Frank Daniel. I am not 100% sure but I think it was published either on the site or in the magazine. In fact there were two lists; one for performance competition judges and one for written competition judges. I was included in the performance list but, at that stage, not on the written list. Does anyone have a copy of these?

Since then I have been invited to judge both types of competition. So far there have been no complaints as to my judgement. I will admit that I have acted as part of a panel in most cases but, never the less, I hope I am seen to be a fair and impartial judge. (even horse poems can win).

I don't know if any competition organisers would even think of asking the ABPA for a list of Judges and as for payment, we come up against that same old subject of discussing what we have been/should be paid. It takes me days to read through and rank the entries in a written comp so a lump sum would be the only way to quote. An hourly rate would be ridiculous.

There's a registrar of performance judges listed in the Aug/Sep mag of 2009.
