Results of the 2012 Queensland Open Bush Poetry Championships
The Townsville Bush Poetry Mates Inc successfully hosted the 2012 Queensland Open Bush Poetry Championships held on Saturday and Sunday 2-3 June 2012 at the Pimlico Performing Arts Centre on Fulham Road.
The competition began at 9am Saturday and 7:30am Sunday with a Poet’s Breakfast.  The Saturday night concert featured the three judges, Bill Kearns, the Master of Bull; Neil McArthur the Ratbag of Rhyme and the Buffalo Man Johnny Lloyd.  Townsville’s own Melanie Hall came home to perform at the concert with the Judges.  Over 200 patrons attended and the positive feedback was overwhelming.
Kathie Priestley from Townsville retained her title as the Queensland Bush Poetry Champion.
