Twenty Three entries were received of a very high standard.

Thanks Peter,

Yes the quality of the poems received for the 'Broken Ski' was very high. The panel of three judges took some time to decide on a winner. Actually the whole of the spoken word at the Snowy Mountains festival was very good with bigger audiences than the previous years. Not only was the crowd bigger but the quality was very high. All in all, a very successful weekend. The known poets were Greg North and Peter Mace. We decided we were performing poetry at the highest level, considering where we were.

'Snowy Cup' for performing was won by Kerrie Green Davey, one of the Illawarra Breakfast Poets. She wrote a poem on the bus on the way to the snow and was able to recite it. It was called something like 'the poem that never was' and was about me nagging her to write something. Well Done Kerrie.
