More photos to follow but here's a start. Robyn Sykes won overall Women's Champion and Peter Mace won the Men's. This pic is of forum users. Sue won a second in the traditional - in the novice I think. Sue has results and will post later.

Congratulations to Robyn and Peter - amazing performances and beautiful people. Robyn just blew me away with her recitation of Marion's Child by John Shaw Neilson. The quality was amazing all round and it was great to see the encouragement and support given to the performers by other poets. You wouldn't want to be a judge for quids; their job must be so difficult.

Our Sue is coming along in leaps and bounds and did an amazing job. Well done Sue. :D

The whole festival was well run - not just the poetry sessions and they did the bestest job of organising the weather - brilliant!

I took a non poetry friend along with me so in return I had to look at some of the horse events which is her interest. I had a text from her tonight to say she was "even starting to enjoy the poetry" ;) I think it was different to what she may have expected.

Congratulations to Jan Lewis on a well organised event - what a tireless worker that lady is. And Maurie Foun - another person dedicated to bush poetry and a gentleman to boot.

Get this - apparently there are about 500 volunteers who work to make the Man From Snowy River Festival happen. Now that is some effort. Well worth the trip next year people, it's a beautiful part of the world.

Heather :)

2012 NATIONAL AUSTRALIAN BUSH POETRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
