Hello Bob - I'm happy to have brought so much mirth to your day

Just so you know - my preference for having my name spelled correctly is not just me being unreasonably fussy. It goes right back to issues of childhood bullying. That might sound strange, but it's true. When I was at school, if someone misspelled my name as "Shelly", it was immediately paired with "jelly" and "belly" - leading to taunts at best, and physical harassment at worst. Interestingly, the offenders were girls, not boys. The sight of it spelled wrongly (as it so often is) still raises the hairs on the back of my neck ... all these years later.

I don't often share this - which means most people think I am just fussy! So most of the time I just put up with it and turn it into a joke when I can.
