Success in Charlee Marshall comp

Post by Zondrae » Fri Jan 27, 2012 12:01 pm

G'day all,

It is great to see members of the forum doing so well in written competitions.
I have just received the results of the Charlee Marshall comp in the mail.

Congratulations to:
Terry Piggott for his win and also a HC
David Campbell for Second
Brenda Joy for achieving two HC awards

and (get out the fanfare) Bob Pacey for an Encouragement Award for his poem 'The Day I Rode me rover'.

It gives me pleasure to see people that I have met, (or know from this site,) that I know put much effort and time into their poems, having their work rewarded. It was a delight to see Terry, who has been polishing this poem for quite a while, receive something back for all his sweat. Good on you Terry. My wish for you is that inspiration hit you again when next you 'go bush'....

..... they also informed me my entry was too late.

Late!

My entry was sent the day they closed the comp (and by the conditions of entry) I was too late. I have also missed out in sending into the Dunedoo comp. Oh well serves me right. I should be more aware of closing dates. I might add ..... I must not have anything I think a contender or I would be watching more carefully.
Good to see the 'nice' people winning.

('nice' is such an inadequate word but I can't think of an alternative.)

Congrats Terry on your win! Well done mate . . . hope the ACT full of weird weather and weirder public servants hasn't thrown you off too much. Goodonya!

David Campbell . . . lift your game son! You're letting the Campbell Clan down with a lowly second :)

Onya Brenda

Cheers, Marty
