Thanks Marty the normal non-trombone playing one from NSW! (I hope you don't have to sign all of that on your cheques) :?

Good to see you on here Shelley - The folks here are all nice and good fun - just don't take them to seriously. If they get out of hand Heather whips them back into shape - she is our lovely Purple Moderator. Have fun, enjoy and just jump on in

Thanks Maureen, and don't worry - I have no problems with a bit of healthy banter! You can be sure I'll put in my two BOBs worth (yes, pun intended!!) :D

Welcome Shelley.
If you and Rod are cruising down Craignish way in Wide Bay, Pacific Promenade, (which should be near you)... please feel free to call in.
There is a fascinating collection of Bush Poetry books that I am sure you would enjoy browsing.
If you enjoy that side of poetry as well as your excellent writing, you would have a great time delving and exploring.
I did not know Heather was into whipping.. but then one can never tell these days. My valuable Rolf Harris singles just became worthless... and my recent Cliff Richard, The Complete Works Of, is looking shaky too ... ah well.
Look forward to meeting you and Rod some time soon. Will put a bottle of red and a bottle of white on ice in anticipation... as well as the cask in case you make a day of it. cheers, Gary

Thanks Gary - and you're right, we're not that far away at all! I've been cheeky enough to send you a Facebook friend request - and look forward to making contact sometime soon.
Cheers
Shelley

Yes Shelley I have penned a bit of verse about Willie, my Grandmother grew up out there and was Sixteen when they left in 1903. I did post it quite a while back but will repost it so you can have a read.

Cheers
Ron

That's right Merv! We will be at the Bundy Muster on Friday-Sunday 1-3 July. Not sure if that's an event you have in your calendar? It is held at Across the Waves and is an excellent festival of bush poetry, run by Bundy Poets.

Cheers
