Those Bloopers Again!

Especially for you Maureen ...

I was checking out the Buy-Swap-Sell website and came across these two pearlers ...

"For Sale - Wiper-Sniper"

Not quite sure if it's a tool used for windscreen washing or guerrilla warfare!

This one crops up regularly when people are not sure whether their online post contravenes the site rules ...

"Admin - please delete me if I'm not aloud"

Sounds like whispering is a crime punishable by complete extermination!

Cheers
Shelley

Love it, Maureen! Strippers in the side garden ... whatever next???

Did you know it was my poem "Buy-Swap-Swell", based on advert bloopers and originally written (in shorter form) for the Writing Workshop, that just won the humorous section of the Aussie Championships?

It's not a poem that would go over well in recital, because so much of it is a play on words involving homonyms - so it needs to be viewed to make sense.

You can read it on the ABPA Poetry page here:

Cheers
Shelley

Very clever Shelley - a well deserved win for you with that witty take on the garage sale phenomenon

The only thing with sales I find that really gets my goat
are those who tell you they'll be there by one - quote and unquote,
and though you wait till after two, no sign of them is seen,
I'd love to grab them by the throat and throttle till they scream.
Their ignorance of date and time has caught me more than once,
enough to make me contemplate that I'm perhaps a dunce
incapable of learning the foibles of human nature
which has now turned me into an on line garage sale hater.

Great stuff, Maureen! The potential for sequels with this subject could make it bigger than Ben Hur!
