Humbug

I saw on the news that some of the humbug people are very upset and complaining about Woolworths and Coles running out of their favourite Christmas eating supplies. And I overheard two men talking in the supermarket, one was telling another about a girl ( probably his daughter ) who had been given a car for a present and was angry because the car was a used one, not a new car.

I got a message from a good bush poetry mate of mine yesterday to tell me that his son had died that day, Christmas Eve.

So for those people who missed their humbug Woolies turkeys and hams and the spoilt children who didn't get the dream present, you know what you can do with your humbug.

So sorry for your friend Neville. There's never a good time to lose a child but now Christmas will forever be a time of sadness for that family.

It's all context isn't it Neville? And I find more and more people for whom Christmas is not a jolly time but a stressful one for all sorts of reasons. Seems a lot of fuss to me for one day and then it's all over in a flash. Similarly, I have no time for Mother's and Father's Day, Valentines Day etc - days invented so that someone can make a dollar.

Thanks Heather. Yes it is context. My friends pain has affected the view of things to-day.

Well I'll be bugger Heather do you mean that we agree on at least five things ?

Yes Nev some experience sad times and it really does put all the little gripes into context.

I see a funeral notice in the paper today for a lady who was my secetary for many years in the Supermarket Industry she was a wonderful lady and coined the phrase.

"It is I before E except after C but it seems that Bob Pacey will just not agree !"

Bob, you have another loss in the passing parade. Sad news.

Although you didn't have to agree with your secretary if you wanted to use words like : heist, heifer, height, neighbour, heirloom, heinous, their or weir and neither do you have to agree for neither. :)
