Just sitting here thinking about promotion ideas and remembered that we had some ABPA banners around somewhere.

Found a copy on my files, My question is Do they cost a lot to make ? and could they be used to promote the association when we perform.

I would be happy to pay for one or a smaller version if the cost was not excessive.

Oh while on the subject if anyone has any old copies of the mag that they want to get rid of please send me a pm.

Cheers Bob

It's very nice too - something to proudly display

There was talk

of making them available to use for State Championships etc. or at Tamworth - then be returned to headquarters.

I suggested years ago that banners should be made available to display at poets breakfasts and poetry gatherings to encourage membership. We were able to obtain some back copies of the magazine to distribute at the Gosford Bush Poets and they were very well received. Reckon this would be a good way to encourage membership.

Most of those that go to festivals and competitions already know about the association I'm looking at reaching out to those who for whatever reason are either new to modern bush poetry or have not had any contact since they were at school. I had a group of sixty in tour group on Tuesday night and after the performance I had a chat with a few and found that most were very interested in the association.

So who do we talk to to try and make this happen ? Hal where are you.

Whenever I wear my Man From Snowy River Festival t-shirt I get comments - it's a conversation starter. What about ABPA t-shirts?

For what it's worth though, the banner with the logo is ok, but if we are to expand our audience and engage new people, is the horse the best we can do? I know it will upset the traditionalists, but why not have Greg North with his feather boa, or some more diverse and eclectic images of where we're at and what we are all about instead of our public image being a pack horse.

There are so many great images, just look at the magazine, that we could use to promote what modern bush poetry is all about. How about a montage of images, faces young and old. If we really want to draw fresh faces into the our circle.
