talking of photos

Post by r.magnay » Tue Mar 26, 2013 7:16 am

Heathers poem prompted me to post this little bit of trivia, yesterday we started hanging our photos on the wall, our new house is now a new home!... :)

delete, delete, delete...... ;) When people had re-built after the Black Saturday bushfires, the new houses were empty and sounded very hollow. Some people even said their new houses felt like a motel. It was the photos and the art works, the trinkets that people had collected over the years that were missing and were missed. Top of my evacuation list are photos of my kids and some prints and paintings - not necessarily expensive things, but the things that i look at each day that give me pleasure, that prompt memories and make my house a home.

Welcome home Ross! :D

Yes Neville...made our house into a domicile!

I guess you could describe it that way Maureen, I like to think that home is where your life is!

Thanks Heather, I didn't think it sounded silly in the first place...but I get your drift.... ;)

I thought afterwards that was a stupid thing to say and came back to delete it - still might, it will drive Bob crazy! Didn't mean that you said a silly thing. :)

G'day all,

Back in the days before digital..... I made a habit of sending copies of any really good shots to family and friends. That way in case of disaster we could always get them back if needed. I also used to put the negatives in my fire resistent safe. Now I just keep an external drive well backed up that I take with me when we go away from home.

G'day Ross, matey,

all the best in your new home and welcome to civilisation.
