Aaah ha - confess to not being familiar with them at all, other than the ones that call in my poetry

Scrub turkeys ??

Yep Curlews beautiful birds and very secretive.

They usually only come onto the sites around may to nest and i close off the site to allow them to hatch their brood in peace.

The creek behind the park is up and today i counted seven scrub turkeys sheltering behind the sewerage works. now they are pretty tough birds so it must be bloody wet out there in the bush.
