Every time you use an apostrophe to make a word plural, a puppy dies ....

An author that I read, said that he had once made the mistake of spelling Banjo Paterson's name "with two t's" ( sic )

While "two t's" is incorrect grammar in that sentence, It makes the meaning clearer and I reckon in some places correct or not, the apostrophe for a plural can work. After all language is about communication not about keeping rules.
