Hey Marty, good to see you in Yass at Turning Wave.
I've been thinking about pogonotrophy... perhaps you could use it as follows:
The pogonotomist from Ironbark
Pogonophile of note, young Fred, struck out for Sydney town,
and sought a pogonotomy while ambling up and down.
The pogonotomist was short, as barbers mostly are -
pogonophobe with fancy sash, he smoked a huge cigar.
Pogonophobe with razor blade – a recipe for hell
pogonotrophic Freddy fetched a wild up-country yell,
became pogonophillic and amongst the men of mark
full pogonotrophy’s the go way up in Ironbark.
I've been thinking about pogonotrophy... perhaps you could use it as follows:

G'day Robyn,
applause to you for a very clever and quick reply. Sounds like we missed a fantastic weekend at the Turning Wave. I tried to get accommodation but even the caravan park was full. Then I realised that we had promised to have two of our grandchildren while my Daughter and husband went to a wedding. I might try to get better organised for next year. Who won the reciters award this year. (pm If the official results are not posted yet, please).
I am looking forward to 23rd when we are having our first Ukulele festival. Over 200 players are expected. They are coming from the Blue Mountains, Nowra, Kiama, Southerland and the north coast.

Marty, Yes, I enjoyed catching up afterwards. It's always good to meet forum members eye to eye instead of typeface to typeface.
And don't worry about the mental block, it happens to us all at some time. No consolation really, I know, but it's true.
Zondrae the winner of the reciter's award was Chris McGinty of Gundaroo. He would've been presented with the beautiful big burl that makes up the perpetual trophy but there was a slight hitch and it was still being engraved with his name at presentation time. He also gets a little trophy to keep.
The ABPA was well represented this year, but it would be great to see more familiar faces next year.
