I had a trip the other week in the Flying Doctor plane
We went from here straight to Perth and never changed a lane
It wasn’t fun for those at home and caused them some distress
They packed some gear grabbed the car and found a Perth address
Ya see I had these chest pains that weren’t a lot of fun
They whipped me up ta hospital an’ got them Nurses on the run

Rhabdomyolysis that’s a mouthful to explain
And if ya get too much of it its gunna cause ya pain
It’s when something in blood makes ya muscles fall to bits
And when it gets to ya kidneys it really is the pits
Me heart pills have these statins the cholesterol to hustle
It seems they got tired of this and started chewin’ muscle

They put me on this saline drip the toxins for to drain
And enzymes at 12000 can really make ya body strain
I was afraid to close me eyes in case they stayed that way
I was a really glad an’ happy to be still here next day
It’s good to be back home where the R n’ Rs gunna start
The happy thing about it all it weren’t caused by me heart.


Now I gotta go have a lay down

Hi Dave,
Sorry to hear you've had a bit of trouble,
Hope all's well now, so you take it easy for a while mate.

I'm home on a flying visit and head back north about next Friday,
must take up your offer and visit you and Elaine when I get back,
if you're feeling up to it Dave.

Yeah, a scare like that really makes you sit up and take notice. It's great to hear you came through it Dave. Now, with all that R&R your having, there should be time for a bit of prose in there somewhere, so I expect we'll be seeing some posts from you.
