We all like to think that we are not influenced by advertising but nothing could be further from the truth. A man I met who was in advertising said the proof is in our kitchen cupboards and our laundrys. Just open the cupboard doors and have a good look at the products in there...inevitably they will be the most heavily advertised items. We do and buy what we are told.
I once read a book on subliminal advertising (wish I still had it) and it was truly frightening. It revealed how giant corporations invested huge sums in one of subliminal adds for spectacular results before such adds were outlawed.
If advertising doesn't work then there is a terrible lot of dough being wasted.

And advertisers use all those images of seductive women. Wasted on me, they wouldn't want to seduce me. I gotta be realistic.

C'mon Nev, you wouldn't want to be seduced by Madge?
I bet you remember Mrs Marsh, Heather might be a bit young
"oooh it does get it". How seductive is that!
Mrs Marsh = hubadda hubbadda

Read it carefully Marty, I said they... wouldn't want to seduce.... me.
Dame Judi Dench is pretty good in the weight for age race.

Well Mrs Marsh wouldn't want to seduce you . . . . she died a couple of years ago.
What about Felicity Kendall? I reckon she'd fancy an old walloper with a penchant for poetry and the arts.

Sorry Marty, couldn't read your writing. Had to get the magnifying glass out.
Neville I think you've missed the point of having seductive women in advertising. You're supposed to want to seduce them, they don't know you exist really.

I do get the point, but me seducing them is as unrealistic as me winning the Nobel Prize for Science.
buying a new car or hiring a fancy hotel room wouldn't advance me one millimetre.
