They use possum fur in NZ for socks, scarves etc - mixed with wool, it is the softest and warmest material you could imagine. One good use for a NZ possum.. :)

I think they might slaughter the possums (humanely as possible I'm sure) and then the fur is spun with the wool. I wouldn't try to knit a live possum I don't think.

Hey MARTY them there possums I dunno about being Tasty but their tougher than a Pawn Broker Heart. And mongrels to skin cause when their warm the hair pulls of very very easly but stays on them when their cold and their pee stinks
