I'll have a go, this is my crummy version as an example of empty words;

After the raging battle
Dead sailors lay in the water.
Their bodies wash up on the beach,
sad remnants of a great slaughter.


this is Kenneth Slessor's masterpiece;

Softly and humbly to the Gulf of Arabs
The convoys of dead sailors come;
At night they sway and wander in the waters far under,
But morning rolls them in the foam.
