Heather in answer to the naming of house parts windows, doors etc, when we built our house I was working in the ceiling and asked Elaine to come up and give me some help only to be informed there was only a man hole into the ceiling therefore she could not come up, so the name was quickly to "A personal ceiling access entry port."

Sounds like you outwitted her Dave!
I wonder if those window dressings originated in the countries they are named for. Just curious. I thought someone smart would have an answer.
