Ask Donald Rumsfeld, Neville. He knows all about the 'unknown unknowns'.

He probably knows a bit about Mark Twain, too.

That whole Rumsfeld theory makes perfect sense . . . and it's been around probably since Socrates or Plato - there are things that we know, and we know we know them (known knowns). Then there are things that we know we don't know (the known unknowns). Then there are things that we know, but we are unaware of our knowledge of them (the unknown knowns) and lastly, the things that we don't know, yet are ignorant to our ignorance (the unknown unknowns).

See?

Okay, I need a nap . . . . or a drink - or both but perhaps not in that order.

I don't know anything about quantum physics -see Neville, I know I don't know - I am aware of my ignorance - blissfully so on this occasion! :)
