Mind you there are some very clever people out there as well.
A Bloke I know (now) turned a simple little poem of mine (Sweet Nellie Macbride) into what most seem to think is a pretty reasonable song.
Whether it's your sort of thing probably depends on your taste in music. Most who have heard it have seemed to be reasonably impressed - mind you they might just be being kind of course.
