given that for most of the men who will have a postive in these tests the tumor is benign and will not result in their death.
"most" Marty, but not all. Screening is about catching those that do have malignant tumours. Maybe it's what is done after the screening that is the issue, not the screening as such..... :)

What is the harm that screening does? that has never been stated in this post.

Maybe the College of General Practitioners should be educating their members on how to decide when surgery is necessary. Just to be cynical, one does wonder if necessary surgery means to some ; necessary to build up the bank balance.

Last February, a mate of mine died a horrible death from prostate cancer. I still have the blood screening each year.
