Sisters are habitual teasers Heather and I copped many a flogging because of them, Oh just remembered Dad Yelling " Don't hit your sisters you will give them breast cancer " !!!!!!

"Worse things happen at sea." - appropriate after pretty well any disaster or misadventure. Mostly right, too.

As in:

"I've just spilt a glass of water."

"Worse things happen at sea."

and:

"I've just buried the axe in my left foot."

"Worse things happen at sea."

"only have a couple of beers"

"The proof is in the pudding"

"just up the road"

"He's stirring the pot"

"that's pushing s*%# up hill"

Some good ones there Dave

My old man was a tough old rooster but I can tell you we kids behaved ourselves ( well most of the time ).

I can still remember when i got caught drinking in the old pub out at Kabra, I had to get home quick cause the bloody copper knew dad and said he was going around to tell him what I was up to and i was just hoping i could get there first.

Mind you I was 20 at the time.

My old Mum would warn us off any woman she didn't like by saying ''She's a real Mrs Harris Mrs Higgs''....I think it alluded to 'her' being a gossip.
