Sounds good fun, too short notice for me, but since the real footy finished at 5.30pm yesterday I'm at a loose end.

Cheers, Marty

Never mind Marty. There's an episode of Horrible Histories on ABC 3 this evening, some culture there. ;)

I would love to get there, but....well...someone might see me. I'm finding it heard enough to keep myself post-1958 without joining a nursing home outing!!! :o

Oh no Neil, this is the new HIP, sport is out, culture is IN. That's why so many blokes are sporting facial fuzz, the sure sign of the search for art fartiness. ;)

Hey Neville, did you see the article on TV last night about the orchestra who had made all of their instruments out of junk from the tip? I thought it was great....it just goes to show that there might be hope for rap 'music' yet, if they can make an orchestra from all that rubbish they might be able to turn rap crap into something pleasant...it will be a much bigger job though...

I have seen that article Ross, about the "junk" orchestra. . Interesting and clever, to explore the acoustic properties of various recycled materials.

I don't relate much to rap, probably a generational thing as Neil would have it, :) but when I see that stuff around it does show that there is always this urge to express ourselves in the energy and rhythm of poetry, which the youngsters are trying in a new way. It seems to be a human thing that just won't go away.

Maybe the younger generation will refine rap into an enduring expression of poetry, it remains to be seen. Maybe rap will make free verse redundant. :o
I'm too long in the tooth to be around to see it I reckon.
