BOOK READ

Post by Ian A » Sat Sep 19, 2015 10:24 am

'Day All,
I like to read a bit of legal stuff (John Grisham) and I was in the local op shop and spotted this book -
"Walking On Water A Life in the Law" by Sydney QC Chester Porter. They called him the Smiling Funnelweb.
A credit in the front says "I had the doubtful pleasure of being cross-examined by Chester, That experience is
rather like having your throat cut: quietly courteously and swiftly..."
Not a heavy read it covered Royal Commissions of McDermott, the Voyager, the Prisons, Blackburn and names
like Rogerson, Foord, Chamberlain, Kalajzich, ICAC, etc..
Straightforward I thought with interesting observations.

Ian.
