I'm not sure if that was what Banjo Paterson meant when he penned these two lines:

If it was what he meant, it certainly gives the lines a new, disturbing meaning.

Hey Marty (FNQ) there are still a few copies of “Aussie English” by John O’Grady (1965) Aka Nino Culotta about but it’s a bit modern for the words you have posted here.
My grandkids keep trying to ‘alfinch mine so I got some for ‘em off Ebay.
