Toolangi Festival on YouTube

Post by Stephen Whiteside » Mon Dec 10, 2012 11:16 am

If anybody is interested, Jim Brown (Secretary/Treasurer of the CJ Dennis Society), has posted an excellent video from this year's Toolangi Festival on YouTube. It gives a good idea of how the 'moving theatre' on the Sunday worked.

You can find it here:

There are also a couple of other related videos.

Yes, I had that experience, too. It's odd.

If you go to YouTube and type in 'Toolangi Festival' it will take you to it. (Day 2 is what you are looking for.) But if you cut and paste the address and then click on it, it tells you it is unavailable.

Fabulous Stephen - thank you for sharing. Those gardens are divine - no wonder he was happy to spend his days there, just beautiful and all through the two clips you could hear the sound of the birds in the background. An admirable performance by all involved. Do hope this goes from strength to strength for the committee and continues to add enrichment and first hand knowledge of some wonderful poetry to a wider audience. Well done.

Nice to hear excerpts from Wendy's Peppytweak and Leonie's tale of Wilhemina's farting dragon   bringing some laughs as well.

Cheers

Maureen

Thanks, Maureen. Yes, it was great fun, and we were very lucky with the weather - yet again!

These links should take you straight there. The first is the presentation on the Saturday, with readings of the winning poems, the second is a professional video of some parts of the 'moving theatre' in the grounds on the Sunday, with Stephen hosting as Dennis, Jim as Paterson, me as Lawson, and Mac Craig as Hal Gye...with a special appearance by Bill and Doreen. The third is Jim performing 'Dusk'.
