Efftee Film Productions

Speaking of nature documentary makers, is anybody familiar with Efftee Film Productions?

The name comes from the initials of its founder, Frank Thring - the father of the better known son, also Frank Thring, who was an actor. (I believe Peter Fitzsimons has recently written a book about them both.)

The films are available through the National Film and Sound Archive. I bought a couple many years ago, and they were absolute rippers.

There is also a C. J. Dennis connection. I'm pretty sure Thring made the second Sentimental Bloke movie, the 'talkie' that did not do well.

Thring's widow bought 'Arden' from Dennis' widow (lots of widows...) after Dennis died in 1938. Frank Jnr. spent a lot of his school holidays at Toolangi.
