Old bushmans song

Post by Irene » Tue Nov 13, 2018 10:06 am

Not poetry but I have just received a request from someone looking for the name and full lyrics of an old bushman type song that was dear to someone’s heart and they want it recited at his funeral. Can anyone help please?

Some of the lyrics are:

"I live out in the bush with whiskers on me mush And I never wash for days
For the dirt will keep till the end of the week That’s the good old bushmen’s ways.
I keep me tucker in a kerosene tin And I scrounge it when I can.
I’ve got a jam tin for a cup with its sides turned up And a shovel for a frying pan"
What goes around, comes around.
