"Scone" pome

Post by Stephen Whiteside » Wed Feb 25, 2015 12:19 pm

I'm trying to track down a poem I heard about "Scone" some time ago. Can anybody help me? I vaguely recall that it was about some famous poet who was born or lived there.

Col Wilson (Blue the Shearer) did one about the Whinger from Wingen (which is not too far from Scone).

There are a couple of poets showing on the net as having been born in Scone Steve.

Barbara Bayton and a Sue Murray this might help your search.

Thanks, Bob. I found it online, but I reckon a few words are missing here and there. Some of the lines don't scan very well. Any help appreciated.
