Mexican Poetry

G'day,

I am involved with a function having a Mexican theme, at the end of October.

Would like a poem, preferably humorous, to perform on that occasion.

Can someone point me in the right direction.

I have thought of Kevin "bloody" Wilson's Manuel the Bandido one and may still do that, with a bit of censoring here and there.

I have heard 'Manuel the Bandido' performed as a poem before and it goes over fairly well that way.

I can keep thinking of some American country songs that fit in with the Mexican theme, some of which might work when recited as a poem ('El Paso' by Marty Robbins is one example) however, most of them are serious rather than humorous.

Otherwise, the best suggestion I can give is to try an American cowboy poetry website like this one (Cowboy Poetry, Music and More at the Bar-d Ranch and see if anything comes up on there. Or maybe look for poems about Victoria (the 'other' Mexico), Victorians and the Victorian way of life.
