Who wrote this poem?

Post by Irene » Fri May 20, 2011 9:48 am

I had an email sent to me this morning with an audio of a poem about the dangers of plastic chairs. I have heard it before, but for the life of me, I cannot remember who wrote it, and there was nothing on the email to say who it was. Can someone tell me please.

It was about Trevor at Tamworth who got his crown jewels caught in the plastic chair when he stood up.

Thanks

It is doing the rounds I bet Bill would like a dollar for every time it has been played. I got four copies sent to me. As a matter of interest I started writing a poem called Why I'm not a Nudist which has basically the same scenerio and bounced it off Kym. She told me about Bills poem and he sent me a written copy then.

I have just about finished mine will post it as soon as it looks ok.

I don't know why people think this would suit my style.

A very bad thing that it is being passed around so freely. Total breech of copyright and an example of what can happen to any of our intellectual property once it is posted on the web. If you are a member and receive this, PLEASE do not pass it on for Bill's sake.

I've now received five versions of Bill Kearns poem 'Entrapment'.
It has been taken from his album 'Unstoppabull'. Could be ten years old now.
The copies sent to me were wma files I don't know where that all came from, it just turned up on my computer.
Some of the copies sent to me have a logo on screen for VLC Medium Player - it is an orange and white witches hat, some copies also have a witches hat as well as a picture of a disc.
Two of them have a photo of a bloke that I don't know on the screen.
I tried to copy his photograph but can't seem to manage this at all, and I know it's not my old mate Kearnsy.

I listened to it quickly the first time, and thought "I've heard this - and thought it was from one of the poets I listened to in Tamworth a couple of years ago - obviously Bill Kearns.
I just went and looked at it again after reading theses posts, and see that, although there is no picture on mine like yours Joe, it does actually acknowledge it as Bill Kearns, and from Unstoppabull - right down the bottom.

Yeah Keats, it is a shame when this happens. Will not forward it on.

does anyone have a contact number for Bill Kearns?
I have had an email from a couple who heard the poem recited on radio - it had been sent in by a listener - and they want to know if a cd is available.
I have told them I would get them some contact details so they can purchase a copy.
Thanks
