New Book 'The Call of the Outback'

Post by Terry » Wed Nov 25, 2015 5:53 pm

NEW BOOK - ‘The Call of the Outback’

G/day Friends

Should anyone be interested -

This is just to let you know my new book is now available.
This book is once again a Coffee Table type sized book and measures the same as sheet of A4.

As the name suggests the poetry is largely based on my years of prospecting for gold as well as touching on my opal mining days.

The book has 80 pages and there are 36 of what I hope are my better recent poems, and 33 full colour photographs.

There is one poem that was also in my last book ‘Around the Campfire’ – that poem has the same name as the title of this book (The Call 0f the Outback) and was included for that reason.

The book has been underway for quite a few months and had nothing to do with me winning the Bronze Swagman Award, which came as a great surprise, but of course those poems have now been included in this book.

The book costs $35.00 for members including postage, which would go a long way towards buying a carton of the good stuff for the coming festive season; the book is also available as an Ebook. @ $7.99

For purchasing details or other information I can be contacted at, terrence.piggott@bigpond.com

The pictures of both the front and back covers are on the ABPA Website (facebook I think?)
If I knew how to do it I would post them here.

Hope I’m not breaking any conventions posting this here – please let me know if I am, and I’ll remove it.

Cheers Terry

I can't think of anything nicer for a Christmas present or any time really Terry than a book. The presentation on your latest is divine and the front cover is particularly IMO eye catching.

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.

Thanks Maureen
The book has been very well received by those who have seen it.
As I rarely recite and have little contact with the general public,
I once again decided to concentrate on producing a high quality book,
the downside of this of course is that production cost are high.
I have used only the best of my poems in the book,
and with the exception of maybe one or two all have won awards.
For those who maybe interested there are a variety of photo's,
including Gold nuggets, Opals and a many photo's of the WA Goldfield,
and native animals - I'm quite proud of this book.

Cheers

Terry

Thanks Heather

There's a lot of work in publishing a book as you would well know.
But a bit of fun as well.
Which is just as well as there's certainly no money in publishing our poetry books,
unless you're regularly performing, and even then I suspect you'd really need to keep the cost to a minimum.

Make good Christmas presents for your family though - and both Val & I have large families.

Cheers Terry
