No Bob, there are very few proper rhymes in the song and no rhymes for Australia or Australian.

well yes its only in recent times that bush poets had online competitions and written prize comps with fellow bush poets being the judges of their work.
my experience of the old-time bush poets Newsome and Garvey, published their own works. and then recited on stage or at breakfasts.

Might because we only got the internet recently in historical terms. Imagine the use that Lawson and Paterson would have made of such media!!! ;)

I know what you mean Neil, ( I think ;) ) but I think that we don't need to imagine what they might have done, because we know what has been done so we should know what hasn't been done. That's our task now, to do what hasn't been done.

Yeah but there's stuff we know that we know we haven't done and then there's stuff we've done that we don't really know. Likewise we don't know about the stuff we haven't done because, well . . . . :? we haven't done it.

I think Paterson would've been a ground breaking web entrepeneur, whilst Henry would've just got cheap bulk grog on Ye Olde Dan Murphys online.

In a nutshell (or to paraphrase Basil Fawlty " a nutcase more like it") beyond competition, I think we'll all still be competitive, argumentative, informative, contemplative, constructive, imaginative, seductive, productive and progressive.
