Hey Glenny have a goggle, I found a bit about how it is a memorial to Buddy holly and it seems to fit the lyrics.
The father, son and holy ghost
Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Richie Valens
All killed in the same plane crash and the Day is commonly known as " The Day The Music Died "

Heather, Robert Frost wrote wonderful poetry about the country and country life,

only difference with him, it was the landscape and country life of New England, USA. Interestingly the critics accused him of being too traditional and out of touch with modern writing. I think our bush poetry mob could learn a lot by reading Frost.

One of my favourite poetry quotes.
And the verse falls to the soul like dew to the pasture.
PABLO NERUDA, "Tonight I Can Write"

I think the term poet is a very exalted term and should only be applied to a man at the end of his work. When he looks back over the body of his work and he’s written poetry, then let the verdict be that he’s a poet. Leonard Cohen.
Leonard Cohen is also a poet as well as a song writer.

Why can't people who respond to the poet's work make that judgement right now ?
This sounds like Lenny Cohen is paying homage to the post-modernist dogma of uncertainty.

anyone who writes poetry be it good or bad or whatever genre is a poet.
That is a bit snobbish I think.

So Bob, you accept that the purveyors of impenetrable abstract free verse are recognizable as poets.
